Behold the Chiefs of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Musa? They said to a Prophet (that was) among them: "Appoint for us a king, that we may fight in the cause of Allah." He said: "Is it not possible, if you were commanded to fight, that you will not fight?" They said: "How could we refuse to fight in the cause of Allah, seeing that we were turned out of our homes and our families?" But when they were commanded to fight, they turned back, except a small group among them. And Allah has full knowledge of those who do wrong.

Their Prophet said to them: "Allah has appointed Taloot as king over you." They said: "How can he exercise authority over us when we are better fitted than he to exercise authority, and he is not even gifted  with wealth in abundance?" He said: "Allah has chosen him above you, and has gifted him abundantly with knowledge and bodily prowess: Allah grants kingship to whom He pleases. Allah is limitless, and He knows all things."

And (further) their Prophet said to them: "A Sign of his (Taloot) authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the Covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Musa and the family of Harun, carried by angels. In this is a proof for you if you indeed have faith."

When Taloot marshed with the army, he said: "Allah will test you at the rever; if any drinks of its water, he goes not with my army; only those who taste not of it will continue with me; a mere sip out of the hand is excused." But they all drank of it, except a few. With they crossed the river, he and the faithful ones with him, they said: "This day we cannot cope with Jaloot and his forces." But those who were convinced that they must meet Allah, said: "How oftten, by Allah's will, has a small force vanquished a big one? Allah is with those who steadfastly persevere."

When they advanced to meet Jaloot and his forces, they prayed: "Our Lord! Pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm: help us against those that reject faith."

By Allah's will they routed them: and Dawood killed Jaloot: and Allah gave him Power and Wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. If Allah did not make people struggle against each other, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: but Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds.

Notes:

As it is clearly stated in [Sura : 2, Verse : 247 - 247], Allah said that the children of Israel rejected Taloot as a king because he doesn't have enough money. The children of Israel (Jews) at that time used to measure success with how much money you have.

What are the lessons learned from the Ayat in relation of the name "الجبار". What was the punishment of the people who mocked Prophet Musa? Can you guess why did Allah make the pubishment 40 years of being lost, why not 10 years for example? (Answer is that Allah wanted the current generation that was raised to worship the Pharoeh to retire and the new generation that was raised in freedom to take over. 40 year is the time for one generation to retire and the next generation takes over).

(20. And (remember) when Musa said to his people: "O my people! Remember the favor of Allah to you: when He made Prophets among you, made you kings and gave you what He had not given to any other among the nations (Al-`Alamin).'') (21. "O my people! Enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and turn not back; for then you will be returned as losers.'') (22. They said: "O Musa! In it are a people of great strength, and we shall never enter it, till they leave it; when they leave, then we will enter.'') (23. Two men of those who feared (Allah and) on whom Allah had bestowed His grace said: "Assault them through the gate; for when you are in, victory will be yours. And put your trust in Allah if you are believers indeed.'') (24. They said: "O Musa! We shall never enter it as long as they are there. So go, you and your Lord, and fight you two, we are sitting right here.'') (25. He ﴿Musa﴾ said: "O my Lord! I have power only over myself and my brother, so Ifruq us from the rebellious people!'') (26. (Allah) said: "Therefore it is forbidden to them for forty years; in distraction they will wander through the land. So do not greive for the rebellious people.'')

Two Names of Allah: "الجبار" and "المتكبر"

Monotheism is to believe that Allah is the only one who deserves the names of greatness.

Polytheism is to believe that others may share the names of greatness of Allah.

The Name of Allah "العزيز"

Meaning of Al-Azeez. Pyramids of Izah (Power)

Comparing the Azeez of United States with the Azeez of Mexico, the Azeez of United States wins.

Allah is the highest Azeez

Allah is the highest super duper power

To prove that you believe in the name of Allah Al-Azeez, you seek Izah from Allah by pleasing him. Don't seek Izah from other super powers than Allah by pleasing other super powers and displeasing Allah. If you can please all, then good, but if you have to please one and make all others angry then please Allah and make all others angry.

Allah is the heavenly Azeez. He is to be pleased and all other earthly Azeezs come next.

Q. What would you do if an earthly super power is forcing you to disobey the highest super duper Azeez (Allah), such as the case in the inquisition?

A. First try to escape to a place where you are free to obey Al-Azeez. If you can't (such as the case of African American slaves), then keep your heart with Al-Azeez. In other words, set your intentions to obey Al-Azeez as much as you can and maintain a desire to obey Al-Azeez if you can get a chance. You have full control over your heart and no one can change your heart except Allah and you.

Differences between Messengers, Prophets and Reformers

For Muslims Allah chose to send reformers to revive the faith in the hearts of people so that they take Islam more seriously. But for other nations, Allah chose to send Prophets instead of reformers. Allah decides based on his knowledge and wisdom. The wisdom may be that Allah knew that Muslims will do fine with reformers and they don't need a Prophet to come.

A messenger is needed if the scripture is lost or if the original teachings of the religion is lost. for example, if people have the wrong image of Allah and think this is the true belief, then Allah sends a Messenger to bring new teachings and correct the wrong image that people have about Allah.

For example, if Quran is lost, then Muslims will need a Messenger to fix the problem. But if Quran is not lost but people are not taking it seriously, then Allah will send a Prophet or reformers to fix the problem

Allah is not sending any more messengers because he is protecting Quran himself and no one can change anything in it. How?

  1. Allah preserved the language of the Quran. it is still alive. It is spoken by more than 250 million people in the world.

  2. There are millions of paper and electronic copies of the Quran everywhere. There is no way all these copies can be destroyed or changed.

Notes

Alif-Lam-Meem. No one knows what they mean until now.

The Prophet didn’t tell us what they mean. They are left open for the discovery of people who will come after the Prophet. If the Prophet would explain their meaning, then they are closed for any future interpretations. The meaning could be impossible to understand without a certain knowledge, such as the scientific miracles in the Quran. The Ayat of Scientific miracles are not explained by the Prophet and left open for later interpretation of people who live in the science era.

The Quran doesn’t expire and has endless giving. There are many Ayats and secrets in the Quran that are not discovered yet.
